Bangkok Love: A Novel
Hell did not freeze over, the Cubs won the World Series, and Maddie Heath has an Asian boyfriend named Josh. She loves his Thai green curry. The spiciest food she previously ate was Taco Bell’s “Fire” sauce. Her father, unhappy that she is dating “one of those Asians,” demands that she choose: her family or Josh.
The couple marries and relocates to Thailand. They move in with Josh’s Chinese mother, a woman to whom Asian customs are an integral part of life. After Maddie gives birth, her mother-in-law pressures her to follow the strict Chinese traditions of an herbal broth diet, no bathing, and staying at home for a month.
In the interest of her marriage, will Maddie learn to navigate these cultural differences?
Bangkok Love: A Novel is a 65,000-word women’s fiction novel that explores Bangkok in the vein of Crazy Rich Asians.
